*Angel was sat at her dresser in a white night shift. Her long golden hair had been brushed many times and was finally tucked into a platt and hanging behind her.

She wondered if Jaric was actually going to even bother coming to bed this evening but as far as she was concerned there were matters to be discussed and Angel would go and find him if he did not. However, such a conviction did not hold up against a yawn which she tried to stiffle with her hand.

Her sky blue eyes averted towards the door and then back to the mirror which was held a glow in reflection by a nearby small candle that was clearly close to expiring.*

{{ throws his heavy cloak onto the chair as he enters the room, he doesn't speak at all as he heads toward the door in the wall leading to his tub, once inside the sounds of armor being set on stone can be heard, followed rapidly by the sounds of a large object settling into the water.}}

*She gave him a chance to get in the tub whilst she yawned and forced herself awake, Angel got up and made her way in without knocking.*

"Must you choose to be in here so late, Jaric? I have been waiting to talk with you."

*She smiled, her voice joking and light hearted.*

"I do hope you're not avoiding your wife already, we've hardly been married a year."

*One hand came up to toy with a few tousled blonde strands.*

If I was avoiding you, I would have stayed in the exercise yard for the night...I am trying to relax after the day I faced. which reminds me to reprimand you for bringing home strays from other lands...

*She sighs as she rapidly realized his mood wasn't about to get any better for the evening. Tugging the thin shift over her head and casting it aside, Angel left little to the imagine herself as she took to joining him in the tub.*

"Ah, so you already know what is I am going to say. I don't think you should send her back, you know this is what Vladamir wants."

*Cupped her hands together and washed her hands with the delightfully warm clear water.*

I have no desire to or inclination to let them go. duke Ralean is to be charged with abandoning his post, Lady Amarra is charged with endangerring the welfare of the realm and attempted sabotage, and Prince Jared, who has declared that she is his wife despite her protests is charged with holding a woman against her will...none of them will be allowed to leave IceHold.

In fact, they will be under house arrest in short order, I have already given the orders and sent word to my brother regarding the matter.

"Must you insist on prevoking him? Surely this is not the right answer."

*In her mind it wasn't, but she hardly knew what the right answer was to begin with. Angel grabbed a nearby cloth and some rose oil to rub into her skin. She shrugged.*

"I cannot keep up with all these games, Jaric, but I fail to see how it benefits our realm."

The Baron sent them here as a test of our will. He is trying to see if we will bow to his demands and therefor show a weakness that he may exploit, by keeping them here we cripple his realm, he has no general, and we now have the heir to the throne to use as leverage should the fool attempt any sort of action against us.

Further, I have sent for Xavier and Claudia without informing their parents I have done so, leaving them with no children to replace Jared should Vlad decide he is expendable.

It took a little while for it all to sink in, and Angels hand raised to her head as she tried to stop a headache forming. Her elbow rested on the side of the tub.

"When you explain it, it all becomes so much more clear. However, when I sit here trying to wonder for myself I can't possibly take into account all the factors that you clearly have."

She shook her head, somewhat exasperated.

"Dearest husband, I do not know whether to call you a mad man or a genius, truely. Yet I am confused as to why you have not considered that the Baron and his wife will simply have more children if it suits them."

The Baron's children are the result of a speel placed upon him by the Archamge years ago, one that has seen its magic spent with the birth of Claudia and Xavier. As for Bathory's curse of fertility, it was I that placed it there, and I have already seen it removed.

There is no way for another heir to be born to them. With one move we have made them dependent on our good will for the continuation of their line, but this is all meaningless as long as they maintain immortality.

A situation the preists are currently working to rectify.

Violence is the last resort. One must never risk the lives of others if it can be avoided, your people are not easily replaced, and to fight he Baron is to invite a war that will not be won on an honorable field.

If war comes from this, then he will start by attacking the peasants. Our craftsmen will be first, followed by the farmers. He will attempt to cripple us before the first blade is even drawn on the field.

This is why we must back him into an untenable position, to keep our people safeguarded.

I have been at war for centuries, there is little left on the battlefield that I have not seen and can not anticipate. As for your part, centuries of warfare have left me distant from my people. It is for me to provide for their protection, it is for you to provide for their care and wellbeing.

I may also have another, more personal task for you...

*Her tone becomes more curious.*
