~Ral rides back to Grorr proper, hopeful that Tala was not far behind with Jared and Giligian. He dismounts, handing the reins of his horse to a passing stable boy with orders to prepare fresh mounts for travel. he grabs another passing servant, giving orders for trvaeling provisions to be packed, emphasizing the need for extreme cold weather needs.

he then moves to his own quarters, packing his personal things...his bow and a quiver of arrows, his winter clothing. as an afterthought, he lays out his dragon scale armor, the light shining off the supple blue. it may be needed, and he would not be weighed down by his damn plate.

he sets about arranging warm clothing from his old traveling gear, nostalgia flooding his memory as he lays out the well-used traveling gear from his days in Aurora. Had it been so long?~

Had dismounted his horse and given the reigns to the stable boy. Now Jared was simply waiting for Gillian to join him also. Jared wrung his leather gloves together nervously.

"Ral is going to suggest going to Icehold..I'm not looking forward to it, Jaric won't be amused especially if we are wasting his time."

Began a slow walk with Gill back into the castle, his leather trenchcoat fluttering behind him.

"This has been a long night, friend. Thank you for your help, I'm sure she'll turn up. I hope so."

Face was grim.

~~Gil nods, keeping pace after he dismounts, moving to the keep. "Jaric will understand concern though, and Ralean has the weight of being a noble of aurora as well." he claps a friendly hand to jared's back. "Don't worry, my friend. It was my pleasure to help as much as I could. and I'll keep along until this is done with. we'll find her, aye, and laugh about this all later." as they pass, he sends a servant off for fresh clothes, and to inform Ralean of their arrival~~

~Ral has everything ready, prepared to dress and go. he is still in his previous traveling gear, not yet changd. h hears a knock, and calls for entry

as the servant informs him of the arrival of Gil and Jared, he sends the servant back with orders to send them to his cahmbers~

Continues to walk with Gil, heading towards the throne room until a servant pauses them both in their tracks to mention that Ralean wanted to see them upstairs. Jared exhaled deeply, hoping that this wouldn't be more bad news. He nods to Gil.

"I guess we'd best go then.."

Turns and strides to the stairs, taking them two at a time to get there faster. It didn't take long for him to be at Ral's door and knocking.

~Ral opens the door. upon seeing Jared he offers a strained smile and gestures to a travel pack arranged nearby. "that right there is everything needed to travel in an Auroran cold, like icehold. I think perhaps Amarra may have gone with jaric and Angel to icehold. if you agree, we're ready to go see for ourselves. if not, I'm willing to travel alone, while you and Giligian await word here, and continue your search." he nods slightly, as if to assure himself he'd said all he needed to. "what do you think, my friend?"~

In the main courtyard a flare of cold flames suddenly appeared, opening like a pair of wings to reveal Kharne in his human form. While not its intention it was undisputably impressive and dramatic. The whole effect of which was ruined by the fact that he was the wrong way up.
"And this is why we memorise locations better when using a portal." he said a moment later from somewhere around ground level.
He contemplated the stars above him for a moment before blinking his eyes clear and climbing to his feet.

Took a few moments, looking at Ralean as if he were trying to make up his mind.

"I think I should go. If she is there, at least I can find out from her what has happened. Makes sense, right? There's no reason why Jaric shouldn't let us in, is there?"

~she was watching from the shadows. She had been kept hidden for a long time and now she was out on her own. She watched as kharne appeared. as she wondered what is going on.~

Kharne shook his head clear before making his way into Grorr castle, hunting for Duke Ralean. After getting directions from a member of staff he finally mets up with Ralean and Jared.
"Portals are trickier thatn you'd think." he muttered by way of greeting.

~she moved about the way trying not to be seen. she tilted her head as she watched Kharne. she remembered her mother speaking about him. she was wondering what was going on so she followed as long as she could~

Kharne answered with a simple nod.
"Aye, she's there. She only said that she was sorry for the distress she was causing and that she wanted to stay."
He spoke softly to Ralean knowing that Jared would still want to go in any case.

(Sorry, I'm trying to balance what ol bonehead says with what I know Jared and Ralean WILL say in Icehold without screwing the whole flow up....confusing! lol))

~decides to just walk across the courtyard like nothing is going on. She had done it enough before when no one was around. She kept her head down and walked across almost running into a couple of horse which made her jump. In trying to avoid the rest of the horses she turn and when into the keep. She blended in with few others that were around the keep. As she followed and acted like she belonged there. As she listened to what was going on.~

Kharne thought about it for a moment, not least in his mind the thought of a vampire standing in the middle of what was to all intents and purposes a church.
"Aye I'll come along, I could do with more details myself." he said finally. "I'll just keep quiet. I only want to know that Amarra is going to be allright. She's been a good friend to me and I don't have too many of those left."

I'll be coming along, too. I don't have much else to do... I hope you don't mind.

--She heard the previous bit of conversation regarding Kharne confirming Amarra's whereabouts. She didn't really have any business with these affairs, in fact she hardly knew any of these people, but what else was she to do? It would be strongly against her character to just walk away from an adventure and do something else... with less action. Plus, when all is said and done, she planned to apply at the school in Grorr. Now wouldn't be the best time to do so, and she would have to wait it out anyway.--

~~Gil tilts his head. "Just passing through, eh?" he chuckles. "And what brings you to just passing through the halls of Grorr keep at such a delicate hour of the night?" he grins. "Tired? very. affairs of state and all..." he gestures back to where the others stand outside the doors to Ralean's chambers. "The nobility have matters to discuss that have kept me out all night. plus, that damn party was hardly fun."

as she offers her name, he reaches out one large hand with a boyish grin. "I'm Giligian, personal aid to Duke Ralean."~~

~she chuckles alittle~ " I have heard that affairs of the state and be quiet tiring."

~she takes his hand as she shakes it and hold her hand there a moment.~
"Very nice to meet you Giligian. and you are a personal aid. That must be an interesting Job." ~she then slowly lets go of his hand still smiling.~

~~Gil looks over hsis houlder down the hall "Barracks? you're training here then?" he laughs, shaking his head. "You picked a damn poor time to become a soldier, m'lady."

he grins. "well, the affairs themselves, not so tiring." he gestures back. "he does that work. but traipsing through the woods at all hours? well, I miss the adventuring life, but not that much. as for the party.." he shrugs, leaning in conspiratorily. "Well, between you and me, the damn thing was a farce, and a complete waste of time unless you're so uptight you make cold iron seem flexible."

he straightens, accepting her handshake with a gracious smile, keeping hold of her hand as she rests it there. "interesting? it's a fancy way of saying he keeps me around and out of trouble. it isn't terribly difficult for the most part, and can even be quite exciting. you get a lot out of being close to the top, without the pressure of sitting in the chair." he laughs. "and it allows me plenty of free time to be out of this damn place. Ralean hates politics so much that he's dreadfully good at it."

he smiles at her easily. "so, what has brought you to our city to train?"~~

~she laughs at his uptight line.~ " I wouldn't doubt it. Still would have been nice to go I think." ~she smiles~

"So you get in trouble when he is not around to keep you in line? You must really have fun in your free time." ~she raises an eyebrow~

"I thought I would get some formal training then decide what I want to do. But even in training I hold back..." ~she glances to the ground for a moment then back at him~

"I have held back and tried not to draw attention to myself because of who I am and don't want special treatment. um... you see my father was a solider here. and well my mother she came here from another realm and ended up one of the queens ladies in waiting...but she was killed defending the golden library..." ~she trailed off...as a thought ran thru her head.."why the hell are you telling him this...you have never done that before..."

"His fiance died defending the library as well, and he was there as well." he nods again, and smiles softly. "I do offer condolences for your loss though, m'lady. It is never easy to lose those you care for."

he lifts a brow and chuckles. "Power, eh? maybe I'm not the only one here who's a little off thier normal patterns for the evening." he grins~~
