"Yes I can imagine. Some of the council don't seem to get on at the best of times, from what I've seen anyway. I have yet to meet some other council members, and I hope to do so before war breaks out. I may not get another chance."

Maraiana nodded slowly. "My head tells me you are correct, I only wish my heart would listen. I do feel more optomistic than I did originally, however. We have a contingency of Lord Jaric's paladins here. Between their holy magic and our magely skills, I have hope that we will save Draco. In many ways I wish it would just start ... The waiting is so difficult ... "

Their tour begins to wind down as they start to head back to the Headmistress' Office.

Maraiana nods again, then speaks aloud again. "Before you go, I'll show you to your office." They go down the hall a short way before Maraiana opens a door to a small room dominated by a large desk and piles of papers. Though unused, the room is not dusty.

"I'm afraid it's become something of a file room, but I'll have these papers moved immediately." She motions to a door on one of the side walls. "That door connects our offices. I usually keep it closed, but it allows us to communicate without having to go out into the hallway.

"If there is anything that you need, to make your stay here easier or more efficient, you have only to ask and we will do our best to accomodate you."

Maraiana looked puzzled as she replied. "Well, yes, did I not make that clear? I always have need of an assistant in a school this size. I have classes to teach, as well as my duties as Duchess and the other things that being Headmistress entails, so, if you are not adverse to the idea, I would be happy to have you stay on ... You needn't answer immediately. You might want to try out the position for a while before you make your decision."

Maraiana smiles at his enthusiasm as she leads him through the connecting door back to her office. She motions to a pair overstuffed chairs while she fills a ceramic kettle with water. She gathers magic and heats the water to an appropriate temperature, then adds the tea leaves. She sets the steaming kettle on the a small trivet on the table between the chairs, then settles herself while the tea steeps.

"Well, I'll start with the heads of the houses - they are the professors you are most likely to come into contact with.

"Professor Bolger, head of Magus Dormitory ... He's a giant of a man, impossible to miss. It's speculated that he's got some ogre somewhere in his ancestry, but I wouldn't suggest you make such an insinuation where he can hear you. His broad forehead and pointed teeth speak for the supposition, but there's no proof. He teaches our Combative Arts class and I couldn't think of anyone better for it. He may have a limp from and old 'war wound', but he's still faster than any of our students, and some of our professors too ...

"Professor Green is Head of Terrarum Dormitory. She's a plump, cheery woman who spends most of her time in the Acadamia's greenhouses, even when she's not teaching the Herbology classes. She's a dear, dear woman who is so easy to approach - definately a favourite among the students."

Maraiana pauses here, not wanting to give too much information at one time, and to give Leto a chance to comment or ask questions. She takes this opportunity to pour the tea, offering Leto honey, cream and/or lemon for his tea, taking a slice of lemon for herself.

Maraiana takes a sip of tea, then nods.

"Professor Moldevort is head of Magus Dormitory. She teaches our Dark Arts Classes and enjoys the position very much. She's human and darkly beautiful, but hard as nails. There is no sympathy in her, and the students all fear being disciplined by her.

"Professor Forsythe, head of Aeris Dormitory, teaches Divination. She's human also, pleasantly plump and always smells of incense. She's a very dramatic woman, turning every interaction with her into a stage production. She has a good heart though and tries to use her skills for the betterment of the Acadamia.

"Finally, Professor McManus is head of Fontis Dormitory. She instructs our students on the art of Potion making. Human also, she has .... well ... she has a ... distinguishing characteristic." Maraiana chuckles a little, obviously trying to supress it as she continues. "The Professor unfortunately has a large ... wart ... on the end of her nose. Now, not only is the poor woman inflicted with this wart, but it seems to change size when she speaks or when she feels a strong emotion."

At this point Maraiana cannot continue and breaks into uncontrollable giggles and chuckles.

"Our other staff members are equally diverse and interesting ... " she says, with an unasked question of whether he wants to take the time to hear about the rest of the staff at the Acadamia.
