The Seven Sohe'im stood fast outside the Sepulchre. The priests of Soul Reaver awaited in front of them, anticipating the arrival of their master.

The evening sky burned orange. The door to the Sepulchre swung open as two acolytes proceeded out, heads bowed, followed by Melchiah, adorned in full armor, war mask, plates, and all. He bore with him a staff, each end capped in a polished black skull spouting a flame-shaped blue blade. His warrior-robes flowing in a light breeze, he looked ready to fight - and die - for a cause.

He stepped atop a large stone dais as the Sohe'im encircled it.

"For one half of a year, I have brought knowledge down from he who you all serve. From Al' Azhif, the Soul-Reaver. Your education is complete, you will soon have duties beyond that of studying. I come from a land born of discipline, of fiery retribution for the weak. The ranks of our lord shall soon spill into Aegis, like a flood of truth, and of justice."

"You, all of you, are of a race ancient, a race of ancient heirs to this Island. You were pushed back here, to the rims of the world, to this lonely shell of a castle and its forest, pushed away by the infidels who now sit high and mighty on their pristine white thrones."

Watching from affar with a mixture of curiosity and distaste, Raziel peacefully ate an apple as Melchiah's elite students were apparently graduating from his clutist class.

His tail flicked back an forth like that of a cat. It tended to do this whenever he showed interest in something and these creatures were certainly interesting. On the outside they had appeared to have adopted a number of Melchiahs less attractive (to those not of scaley decent) traits, while the deeper observation granted by one of Raziels unnatural tallents, they appeared to have been, at least originally, elven. The demons curiosity waned however, as he knew he would never get a decent conversation from any of them, his many lives telling him that fanatics were generally devoid of a sense of humor and a personality that rubbed anyone not of the same mindset the wrong way.

Moving onto his next apple, Raziel did, however, wonder if Melchiah was wearing that armor purely for ceremonial grandeur or whether it was going to have a more practical use this evening and so continued watching.
