Although she was trying to act tough, she was actually pretty scared. Holding her cutlass close to her, she looked about in the darkness, then spoke out, "Helloooo? Anybody down here?".
**Her voice echo's out. It feels erie cold around Sharlene, so cold she can almost see her breath...** _________________ "Storyline is like a rollercoster. Just sit back and enjoy the ride...and hope you don't fall out."
Sharlene looked to the others, shivering a little. The fur on the back of her neck stood up on end as she stared into the darkness.
"L-look. There's nobody here..." she said to them, in a vague attempt to reassure herself. The moment she felt the cold, she knew something was wrong, but she tried her hardest not to let it show.
**Very quietly it sounds as though someone is trying to whisper to Sharlene, except no one else will hear this, and the words are incoherrent. A slight breeze dances around her, barely noticable** _________________ "Storyline is like a rollercoster. Just sit back and enjoy the ride...and hope you don't fall out."
Captain, you remember lady Sarah Winterhaven..she was the one that bought you your life at IceHold and allowed us to escape. What we have here now is our ally returned..and perhaps a better chance at getting what we want fromt eh Queen.
Eh..Victor, whats goin' on 'ere, eh?? I wasn't aware that someone else was in on our deal, an' how she get here?? Damn bloody mages....
Upon hearing Scarlet's voice, a sudden urge rised within him for a fight. He stopped descending the stairs and was ready to start back up when his ears caught the sudden silence from down beloow. One moment he heard Sharlene talking and the other all stopped. He turned around back towards Sharlene's direction, obviously agitated. He almost shouted at her, his voice been carried out easily on the deck
"Hey! What's up?"
Not really waiting for a response he travelled the stairs that were between them and when he stood near her, his left elbow almost touching her back, he felt the utter cold and his muscles tensed in anticipation _________________ Take what you can by sword and saber

He looked down at the two. "Whats the matter with ye two?" I don't see why your both so scared... *He went down a few steps and then slipped on a wet step..."AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He said as he rolled downward into the darkness, and all was silent from him for a moment before he called out..."Oh Gods DAMNIT the really DO hate me!" _________________ "A long time ago, way back in history, when all there was to drink was naught but cups o' tea, along came a man by the name of Charlie Mops, and he invented a wonderful drink, and he made it out of hops!"
She turned her head as she heard Silas fall, using this as her excuse to get away from the spooky area of the hold. She walked over to him and held out a hand for him to take. "You alright?" she asked softly, her eyes showing that she was actually scared.
**The cool breeze swirls around Sharlene and Silas once more causing cold shivers to run down their spines.** _________________ "Storyline is like a rollercoster. Just sit back and enjoy the ride...and hope you don't fall out."
Again, Sharlene felt the cold air circling her and Silas. She stared at Silas for a long time, whimpering a little as her canine side kicked in. "Silas...do you feel that draft? It's unnatural...maybe we shouldn't have pushed the other ship off like that..." she whispered to him.
She glanced around slowly, trying to find a reasonable excuse for the draft, and moreso a light source.
Gurd felt the chill leave from him and eased only a tiny bit. As he heard the thumping sound of Silas crushing down the staircase and watched Sharlene rush to his side, he hushed them
"Quiet you two"
but he didn't pay them any more attention. He tried to let his eyes get adjusted to the darkness so he could see something. Meanwhile his nose sniffed at the air and he sniffed trying to catch a smell of any kind. Locating the food source was always a good place to start... he slowly made a full turn around his axis to check all his surroundings, bringing his sword back up and close to his side, holding it normally this time. _________________ Take what you can by sword and saber

Glances to Gurd as she listens to what Victors saying. Her eyes narrow at Sarah. She didn't trust her one bit, and one more person was one more body she'd have to share gold with.
Oh Aye...I remember..the missey was ready to fry us all with a fireball. I lost some good crew members 'cos of that 'un.
Places her hands on her hips and looks to the baby
What she doin' with a little 'un, eh?? This yours, Victor??
She smirked _________________ Aye..I fought two Carthallions an' survived.
I am a vampyre captain, I can not father children...but the Queen can bear them. Allow us to introduce a Princess captain, one which will buy us our place in this land one way or the other.
Unfortunately where the Queen is involved so too is the Baron. Vladamir will no doubt be out to retreive the child in short order.
Her eyes glimmer as she smirked to the pirate woman. She detested pirates, but was happy to make these kinds of sacrifices until she and Victor could get away safely. She suspected that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. Rocking the baby in her arms she spoke politely
Captain Scarlet, yes? I hope we can over look what I had to do in Icehold. The main point is that I am here now, and with me in my arms I have the greatest bargaining chip that the pirates have ever seen.
Sharlene had known other Lupine to be sensistive to paranormality, but she believed it all to be a big crock. She frowned a little, and whispered to Silas after hearing Gurd,
"I'll be up on deck...I'm going to see if there is anything we could use as light."
With that, she proceeded to move briskly up the steps, avoiding the wet patch which Silas slipped on. Once she was on deck, she released a sigh of relief. She didn't like it down there one bit, and she knew that there was more to come at some point. Her heart was still beating at a fast rate. Her fur gently softened and lay back down as she calmed.
Sharlene adjusted the hat she wore, then began to walk through the mist to the furthest end of the desk in search of a flint or something to light the wick of the lantern with. She was trying not to let paranoia get to her as she ignored the ghost-like shapes that the fog and mist seemed to create.
Yeah, why don't we go drawin' more attention to ourselves, eh??? Lets send a message to the Queen an' tell her where 'er little 'un is right now, cos that fate is gonna be better than what the Baron will deal us!!!! Yer stupid fools!!!!
She was beginning to loose her temper, her eyes narrowed, one hand on the hilt of her cutlass
Why was none of this discussed with me first Victor??? A bit untrustworthy of yers, ain't it??? Eh??? _________________ Aye..I fought two Carthallions an' survived.
Gurd didn't pay Sharlene any more attention when she said she would go upstairs to get some light. One less scared crewmember to stand in the way. Silas was still on the floor and Gurd's eyes just started to take in his surroundings when Scarlet's voice reached his ears. Instantly he turned towards the staircase. Something was up there and it didn't sound good. The itching sensation bore into him and soon he found himself rushing to the staircase, barely avoiding to trample Silas as he run back up to the surface deck. Thumping footsteps heralded his ascend as they brought him out in the open. His right hand lowered his still unsheathed greatsword but as his eyes saw the scene he had left just moments ago, his clutch on its hilt grew tighter.
"Everything alright Captain?" was all he said in a not so happy tone _________________ Take what you can by sword and saber

everything is fine Gurd, though I think the captain is considerring something so irrational as tryuing to fight with myself and Lady winterhaven over a plan that we failed to inform her of...but then that would force me to kill her and would profit neither of us.
CAptain Scarlet, you were not informed of the matter ahead of time for the same reason I was not told of Lady Sarah's survival, you can not play yoiur part if you know too much. You are a loud mouthed braggart and would have told everything over the first pint someone bought you.
Sharlene quickly lost interest in what she was looking for as she saw the commotion on deck. She walked over and looked to Victor and the woman. Trying to brush up on her pirate talk, she replied to Scarlet with an audiable "Aye!".
Gurd didn't like Victor's tone one bit, and Sacrlet's decision made him proud. He slowly walked up behind Scarlet and Sharlene raising his sword and snorting in aprooval. For too long had this demon played their employer. _________________ Take what you can by sword and saber

Doesn't look amused, or intimidated. Her eyes look straight into Sacrlet's eyes
"I might have known these pirates could not understand that what I have done could benefit us all. Don't you see, Captain Scarlet? With this child, the Baron, nor the Queen will want to upset us. We are unstoppable. We could even make them sign some sort of contract giving us Del Fuaco. We wouldn't need the Lost City"
Sharlene frowned a little, then said to the woman, "Aye...and when they come looking for that child, they'll find us. Of course, that way you could both make your getaway while we're left to fight off the armada. And that way you both could claim any prize or ambition that you might have for yourselves without having to share with us lowly pirates. Killing two birds with one stone I would say."
[[ in a flash Steel seems to appear in his hand and finds itself leveled at the Catain's throat]]
Captain, while I must admire the fact that you are willing to die to uphold your morals, I must remind you that you are expendable as far as I am concerned. Our agreement was simple, you get the gold for doing as you are told, So far you have done well and have kept your end of the deal, it would eb a shame for me to have to kill yo unow when you are so close to getting paid.
Now consider this carefully captain...what Aegis admiral would be so daft as to attack this ship while the heir to the throne is aboard? Especially when the hostage is so easy to dispatch...and just imagine what ransom can be asked for the child whne we return to port?
[[ in a flash Steel seems to appear in his hand and finds itself leveled at the Catain's throat]]
Was that meant as though Victor has a knife to Scarlets throat, or just pointed to it? Because it sounds like a possible mode the way I read it. Although I am aware that Vampires get certain abilities, I failed to find the Vampire rules in the rules section of the site, so could someone either take the time to explain the Vampire rules to me or point me in their direction? Thanks.))
He hobbled up the stairs grumbling as he rubbed his neck. He reached the top and saw the altercation on deck. "Whoah" he muttered to himself. Instinctively he reached for his dagger, wait, that was on the other ship. He rolled his eyes at himself and searched for something pointy with his eyes.
"Hey now, folks, there ain't no reason for us...all...to...be fight...in'...with...each..." his voice trailed off as he spyed the extra member on crew. "What the 'ell?" he said to himself. Just then he remembered the small knife he always kept in his boot...he kept that in mind for future reference. _________________ "A long time ago, way back in history, when all there was to drink was naught but cups o' tea, along came a man by the name of Charlie Mops, and he invented a wonderful drink, and he made it out of hops!"
Glances to Gurd quickly, then her eyes shift back to Victor. She stands confident and tall. Its not the first time she had been threatened by death and she wasn't amused by it.
Victor, yers aint gonna get anywhere without us, an' if yers kill me, you'll 'ave me crew to deal with, aye.
Gently taps away his blade with her own and steps back quickly
If yers keepin' secrets Victor, how can we trust you'll pay us, eh?? How bout we start seein' some of that gold now, aye!! _________________ Aye..I fought two Carthallions an' survived.
The flash of Victor's blade was enough to end talking as far as Gurd was concerned. The moment Scarlet backed up a step he slashed upwards from left to right with his greatsword, aiming for Victor's sword hand or even his weapon. The sudden blow would be enough to leave him weaponless or worse. Without giving the move a larger arc than necessary he quickly brought the sword back in his front ready to fend off an attack if necessary... _________________ Take what you can by sword and saber

[[ as Gurd's blade nasp out and strikes Voctor's he allows his weapon to be pushed wide, yet retaining his grip on the blade with his left hand. His right hand snatches the dagger from his belt and levels it once again tward the captain, as his left brings the sword back to bear]]
Captain, if this is a matter of gold, then we can settle it easily...as agreed upon when you signed our agreement in blood. If you wish to terminate the contract, then simply return to port and you will be paid well.
